Highlights of the Week (23/24 Term 1 Week 12)

Hello friends! The PN children had such a great time learning the theme My Five Senses this week. We started off this week with singing the My 5 senses song. We got to look at different senses we can use all over our bodies! Our eyes to look and our hands to touch! It’s so much fun exploring what we can touch with our hands. For English, we talked about the letter E and F. We reviewed different words we learnt together and tried to find things in the classroom that start with E and F. It was lots of fun finding a “fish” in the classroom! For Math we talked about the number 5, we were able to count and find 5 different items and shapes while playing a shape matching game! That’s all for our exciting week! See you again soon!

This week for Critical Thinking we conducted the ‘Bouncy egg” experiment. First, as an introduction, we showed the students an egg and asked them to use their five senses such as sight, hearing, smell, touch and taste. Then we demonstrated how to dissolve the egg in vinegar and observed the bubble rising to the top of the vinegar. We also made predictions of what would happen to the egg.

After two to three days, we poured out the egg and found that the egg felt rubbery. We took turns to feel the egg, and gently bounced the egg. Our K2 friends were really surprised to see that the egg can become bouncy like a ball. We had so much fun conducting this experiment. We then described and drew what we saw on a worksheet illustrating what a bouncy egg looks like.

For Math this week, we continued looking at neighbouring numbers between 11 to 20. We had a lot of practice whilst referring to the number line to help us figure out the number before or after.

Hello everyone! We hope you all had a lovely week. We had a fantastic week here at ABC! We got a chance to use our five senses for some fun this week at school. During Critical Thinking this week, we got to make popcorn! We talked about when we make popcorn, it allows to use all five of our senses; sight, smell, hearing, touch, and of course, TASTE! We also created a book to help us better describe our experience using adjectives. In Math this week, we continued to discuss how to interpret an analog clock as well as how to identify ‘quarter past’ a particular hour. We also continued to build upon our subtraction, by attempting equations without using a number line. In our Physical Play this week we learned three new poses for yoga. They include ‘the tree’ pose, ‘the triangle’ pose, and finally ‘the warrior’ pose. Challenge yourselves at home and try out some yoga with your child. Have fun, and be sure not to hurt yourselves trying out the yoga, mommies and daddies! Have a wonderful rest of your week and we’ll see you all back here on Monday.

主題「動物」

 

      幼兒今星期認識會飛的動物和昆蟲,幼兒知道在天空上出現的動物都是會飛的,例如小鳥、烏鴉等。

     另外,老師與幼兒探索不同動物行走的方式,老師扮演不同的動物行走方式,然後幼兒猜猜是走、跳、爬或飛,之後便請幼兒自行扮演和猜估。

      語文活動方面,老師與幼兒們一起唸讀兒歌「小鳥飛」,幼兒在過程中一面數著小鳥的數目,一面讀出兒歌,並模仿着小鳥飛的動作,非常有趣!

學習目的:

1.  認識會飛動物的名稱

2.  探索不同動物有不同的行走方式

3. 能唸讀兒歌《小鳥飛

主題----「認識自己」

今週是主題「認識自己」的最後一週,老師運用圖片讓幼兒認識不同的情緒例如開心、傷心、害怕和生氣等等,幼兒嘗試演繹不同的表情讓小朋友猜猜他今天的心情,並提問幼兒發生某些事情會有哪種的情緒。透過不同的情景圖片認識不同處理壞情緒的方法例如深呼吸,嘗試用說話說出自己的心情,令身邊的人理解,幼兒進行角色扮演當別人與到傷心的事,學習安慰他們,鼓勵幼兒多分享玩具,關心身邊的朋友,當遇到難題嘗試幫忙別人一同解決。

最後,總結「認識自己」的主題,透過面譜配對面上的眼、耳、口和鼻,再配合字卡認讀詞語,分享自己能自己的事自己做的事,更說出幫助爸爸媽媽的事情,並嘗試表達自己的心情,每更都做個快樂的好孩子。

3.與朋友分享物品。

主題----「動物」

來到「動物」主題的最後一週,這週老師帶領小朋友認識海洋生物。他們主動地分享各自接觸海洋生物的經歷,像是之前在海洋公園看到過企鵝。其次,小朋友也了解到海洋不僅是動物的居住地,更為我們提供食物來源以及交通之用。另外,老師也播放了一些人類對海洋和動物帶來的傷害和污染,從而培養幼兒建立保護海洋和環境的意識。再者,總結並重溫四週所教過的動物。並讓幼兒嘗試將所有動物進行分類,包括農場,森林,海洋。最後,本週老師開始引入了一個新的概念,就是語文原素中的「時間」。老師利用課室內的物品去解釋時間的概念,包括時鐘和課室的時間表。從而,讓小朋友認識到哪些詞語代表時間,例如星期一。

主題: 「幫助我們的人」 -  認識更多職業

 今週繼續主題「幫助我們的人」,主要讓幼兒認識更多不同職業,例如郵差、髮型師和清潔工人的職責。通過影片和角色扮演,讓小朋友更了解以上職業的日常工作,所需的工具和工作的流程。小朋友學會了寄信的程序,郵票的應用,髮廊可以提供的服務等知識。

 此外,老師也邀請了小朋友進行投票並選出自己最喜歡的幫助我們的人作本週主題的總結。

 最後,老師亦向小朋友講解了排序及填充等語文技巧。

 

學習目的: 1)認識郵差,髮型師及清潔工人等職責

2)學習寄信的程序

3)學習尊重幫助我們的人並培養公德心
