Highlights of the Week (24/25 Term 1 Week 13)

PN

Hey everyone! We’re back again for another adventure with our PNs for week 13! We kicked off the week with a new letter - H, and had fun trying on a hat for H! We then explored shapes, learning about all the things we can see that are shaped like a rectangle, and played a Mystery Shape game. This week, we also revisited our 5 senses and focused on our sense of hearing, having fun guessing all sorts of sounds with our special sound cones. Finally, with our friends Pippa and Pop, our PNs solved a tracing puzzle and matched colors. We had so much fun this week, and our PNs can’t wait to see what next week brings.




K1

Our K1 students have successfully completed their journey through the alphabet and are now beginning their exciting exploration of phonics, starting with the sound /a/. This important transition introduces them to the world of sounds, as they learn to pronounce and recognize the written form. To reinforce their new knowledge, we've incorporated phonics songs into our lessons, offering a fun way for them to practice aloud.


In our critical thinking lesson, we focused on the sense of hearing. Students listened attentively to a variety of sounds, testing their auditory skills by identifying these interesting cues. They also revisited shapes and explored different rooms in a house through interactive games that featured colorful flashcards. The enthusiasm and dedication of our young learners continue to inspire us as they embrace each learning opportunity with excitement and curiosity.




K2

We started the week with an optimistic mood, eager to learn and participate in the fun activities planned for us. In Phonics, we showcased our blending skills while reading this week’s story, “Vick is Sick.” During our Cambridge lessons, we engaged in interesting discussions and activities that allowed us to use previously studied vocabulary.

As we continued exploring the theme of Science in our Critical Thinking lessons, focusing on vibration, we spent the week making our very own guitars. Math lessons were fun and engaging as we participated in group games and activities to review our numbers from eleven to twenty.

This week, we also acknowledged and celebrated the outstanding work of our peers at the November Pathfinder Awards, held on Thursday. Well done, friends!

We ended our week with a lovely family picnic, where we shared delicious food and enjoyed playing together. It has been a wonderful week, and we eagerly look forward to what next week has in store for us.




K3

Welcome back, friends! After an exciting week filled with engaging experiments, our friends dedicated their time to completing their State of Matter worksheets and wrapping up their popcorn booklets. This focused effort allowed them to consolidate their learning and reflect on the fascinating concepts we've explored.

In Math, we shifted our focus to revisiting everything we've learned from the very first week to our most recent lessons. We took time to recall essential topics such as 3D shapes, tally marks, pictograms, bar graphs, and the concept of symmetry.

For our numeracy review, we refreshed our addition and subtraction skills, practicing through fun activities that made the concepts come alive. This review not only reinforced our understanding but also helped us retain the knowledge we've gained so far. The students were eager to participate and demonstrated impressive progress!

As we wrap up this week, we hope you enjoyed reading about the adventures of our K3 friends! Their enthusiasm and curiosity continue to inspire us all. Until next time, we look forward to sharing more of our learning journey with you!

主題---「動物」

 

    幼兒除了認識陸地和空中不同的動物名稱外,這個星期幼兒也認識了海洋裡的動物,例如有海龜、鯊魚、八爪魚等,幼兒利用實物玩具模仿魚在水中游泳的姿態,小朋友亦玩得不亦樂乎!

     另外,幼兒認識了海陸空不同的動物,老師讓小朋友進行一個「配對遊戲」,讓他們嘗試將不同的動物配對其影子。過程中,幼兒亦嘗試透過觀察動物的身體特徵,從而能夠動物與影子進行配對。

    語文活動方面,幼兒們今個星期一起認識「水」字,並學習有關水的不同用途。老師向幼兒噴灑水滴並一起感受「水」濕濕、冰涼的感覺。非常有趣!

學習目的:

1. 認識海裡不同的動物名稱

2.能將動物與其影子進行配對

3. 認識「水」的字形和字義

主題:「玩具真好玩」

本週,我們圍繞「玩具真好玩」的主題,帶領幼兒進一步探索不同種類的玩具。課堂上,老師展示了多種玩具,例如積木、洋娃娃和玩具車,並引導幼兒嘗試說出它們的名稱和特徵。透過觀察和討論,幼兒學習辨別玩具的異同,例如顏色、形狀、材質及用途。

在活動中,幼兒參與了分類遊戲,將玩具按照不同的特徵進行分類,例如「車類」、「積木類」和「玩偶類」。另外,,在總結環節,幼兒用句式「我喜歡______」分享自己最喜歡的玩具種類。

此外,活動也專注於認識「玩具」這個字,幫助幼兒學會識別、閱讀和應用該字詞。老師透過結合圖片、遊戲和實物的教學方式,引導幼兒理解「玩具」的意義,並以句式「我喜歡玩玩具」進行語言練習。幼兒透過觀察圖片、操作實物及參與互動遊戲,加深了對「玩具」這個字的理解和運用能力。

學習目的:

1. 認識多種玩具的名稱 

2. 按玩具的特徵進行分類

3. 認字「玩具」字及其意義

主題:食物—食物從哪裏來?

 

本週是新主題「食物」第一週,我們一起討論和觀看食物的種類,以「健康食物金字塔」為基礎,知道原材料和製作過程,例如母牛為人類提供牛奶和芝士、黃豆可製作成豆腐和豆漿、白蘿蔔可用來製作蘿蔔糕、粟米可製作糖膠、油和爆米花。

透過實物觀察穀物類,油鹽糖類、蔬菜水果類、肉類、蛋和奶類的食物,有幼兒表示未觸摸過米,更有幼兒說能聞到米的香味,老師亦展示麵粉,加入水後會變成麵粉糰,可製作出不同的食物,例如麵包、蛋糕、麵條等,而穀物類的食物是可以讓我們每天充滿力量,亦是每天需要食最多的,讓幼兒明白油鹽糖類食物亦身體亦需要,但要記得食量最少等,老師透過故事引導幼兒不吃蔬菜對我們的影響,讓幼兒說出早餐、午餐及晚餐吃了甚麼食物,一起討論哪是甚麼種類的食物,讓幼兒知道均衡飲食的重要。

 

學習目的: 1) 認識「健康食物金字塔」

2) 知道 麵粉可製作出不同的食物

3) 培養均衡飲食的態度

4) 培養愛吃蔬菜及水果的態度






K3

今週展開新的主題「食物」,老師透過圖片介紹健康飲食金字塔,讓幼兒認識不同種類的食物,如五穀類、水果類、蔬菜類、肉類、奶類、蛋類及油鹽糖等。老師也利用兒歌《憫農》,讓幼兒學懂感謝農夫。

然後,幼兒在課堂中分享自己常吃的早、午、晚餐的食物,討論各種食物的營養價值及功用。而且透過遊戲,幼兒學習分辨哪些是有益的食物,哪些則不是,藉此讓他們建立良好的飲食習慣。

 

學習目的:

1. 認識食物金字塔的種類和食物

2. 知道早、午、晚餐常吃的食物

3. 培養幼兒建立良好的飲食習慣
