Highlights of the Week (24/25 Term 1 Week 16)

This week in our Pre-Nursery class, we had an exciting time learning about the letter "J"! The children were thrilled to discover that it stands for words like jelly, jellyfish, and jump. The students had fun making jelly in the classroom. Everyone eagerly gathered around to taste the delicious treat they had created. The smiles on their faces as they enjoyed the jelly were priceless.

Next, they joyfully crafted colorful jellyfish using tissue paper and glue, which helped reinforce their recognition of the letter. In Math, we reviewed numbers 1-5 by having the children play a counting game with winter-themed objects, like snowflakes and mittens.

To top off our week, we celebrated our Christmas party with festive songs, games, and treats, creating wonderful memories. With the holiday spirit in the air, everyone is excitedly looking forward to the upcoming Christmas holidays!




K1

Hello everyone! Welcome to week 16 of our exciting learning journey. Throughout this week, the students have been joyfully singing a variety of Christmas songs and immersing themselves in delightful festive stories. During our Christmas party, they exchanged gifts with their classmates and they were thrilled to celebrate this special holiday with family and friends.

In phonics, we focused on the sounds /i/ and /j/, enhancing their phonetic awareness. In Math, we practiced counting from 1 to 9, reinforcing their number skills. Additionally, we introduced the colour pink and the shape of a star, helping them explore their creativity.

That wraps up our fun-filled activities for the week. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!




K2 Welcome to the final week of school in 2024! This week, our K2 students continued to spread Christmas joy. We completed making reindeer Christmas cards for Mom and Dad, with most of the kids choosing red pompoms for reindeer’s nose similar to that of Rudolph!

We also enjoyed a Christmas-themed scavenger hunt, where we answered questions and solved puzzles to find clues for the next checkpoint. It was a lot of fun!

In Math, we revisited previous topics through revision exercises. We played games on the smartboard and did connect-the-dots activities to practice counting. 😊

In our Cambridge lessons, we started a new topic on how we get from one place to another. We discussed different types of transport and read a story about climbing a mountain. Many kids expressed that airplanes are their favourite!

K3

Welcome to another exciting week of learning in our K3 classroom! This week, we began a new topic in our Cambridge lessons: Transportation. We kicked off the topic with a guessing game and shared interesting facts about each mode of transportation we guessed. We love this subject so much that our class discussion was filled with engaging information from everyone. In addition to learning transportation vocabulary, we also focused on the correct verbs associated with each mode. For instance, we “fly” helicopters and planes, “sail” boats and ships, “drive” lorries and buses, and “ride” motorbikes and scooters.

 In Math, we revisited our subtraction topic through games and worksheets. It was a fantastic way to end the week, as we challenged ourselves to tackle more difficult problems. We even had the opportunity to create our own subtraction problems and choose friends to solve them!

 As the year comes to a close and Christmas approaches, we are working hard on one final craft: a gingerbread house! We’ve been designing our houses and adding the finishing touches. 「聖誕節」-聖誕節的特色食品

 

今週主題「聖誕節」的第二週,老師讓幼兒認識聖誕節的特色食物,當中包括與聖誕相關的甜點———聖誕老人款式小食。

活動中,幼兒嘗試一起利用水果士多啤梨和香蕉製作出聖誕老人外型小食,幼兒更為聖誕老人點上眼睛和嘴巴,非常可愛呢!

另外,為了讓幼兒體驗聖誕節「冰雪」的感覺,幼兒進行了「製作雪人活動」,幼兒透過嘗試將冰刨成雪,再利用雪去製作成雪人。幼兒享受製作雪人的樂趣和學習與同伴一起共同為雪人放上帽子和眼,他們感到非常開心和有趣。

圖工方面,老師教授小朋友製作「聖誕環」,幼兒細心地為聖誕環貼上不同的裝飾,製成品十分分漂亮!

3. 體驗製作「雪人」活動

主題:「聖誕節」─聖誕節的由來

 

今週,我們展開新主題—「聖誕節」。活動開始時,老師利用圖畫書或影片,生動講述聖誕節的由來,幫助幼兒了解不同的聖誕故事,感受聖誕節的文化意義與節日的溫暖氛圍。

接著,老師帶領幼兒觀察學校的聖誕裝飾,認識如聖誕樹和燈飾等節日元素,並引導幼兒回到課室分享自己最喜歡的裝飾。隨後,幼兒與老師一起製作聖誕圖工,透過創作表達他們對聖誕氣氛的喜愛與欣賞。

此外,老師還展示了多種聖誕咭,讓幼兒觀察並辨別不同款式的特色與風格。活動中,幼兒學習了祝福語,並互相說「祝你聖誕快樂!」,體驗節日的分享與祝福的美好,感受滿滿的節日歡樂與溫馨。

     今週展開新的主題「聖誕節」,幼兒能透過觀察月曆,知道將近聖誕節。他們亦專注聆聽故事,知道聖誕節的起源。同時透過參與製作聖誕裝飾,感受聖誕節歡樂的氣氛,他們亦表示十分期待聖誕節的到來,積極與老師分享自己在聖誕節的生活經驗。

    此外,幼兒了解聖誕節是一個十分歡樂的節日,可與身邊的人分享這份喜悅,所以為自己的朋友設計聖誕卡,並寫上名字送上祝福,同時他們亦以句式向同學送上祝福,祝他們聖誕快樂。

3) 認識不同國家慶祝聖誕的活動

今週踏入主題「聖誕節」,幼兒透過影片及老師介紹認識聖誕節起源,他們更積極地介紹不同與聖誕節相關的活動和事情。此外,幼兒踴躍地與老師分享他們將會在聖誕節假期進行的活動。

幼兒們知道聖誕節是一個十分歡樂的節日,他們同時知道聖誕節是互相祝福和傳達愛和關懷,故十分積極地為自己的朋友設計聖誕卡,親手把這份祝福送給對方。
