Highlights of the Week (24/25 Term 1 Week 6)

In our vibrant pre-nursery class this week, our little learners had an exciting time exploring the letter 'C' and the shape circle! To bring the letter 'C' to life, the students engaged in a hands-on activity by crafting the letter with colourful pom poms, which not only helped them recognize the letter but also enhanced their fine motor skills. The fun continued as they hopped onto toy cars and navigated around hoops, reinforcing the shape of the letter 'C' through joyful play. In Math, the circle was our shape of focus. The students participated in a delightful activity where they traced and coloured circles. Our little learners had a memorable week and we can't wait to see what adventures next week will bring!




K1

Welcome to week 6 at ABC. For Cambridge this week, we explored action words like jump, walk, run, swim and fly, while learning to use can and can’t. We also watched a story that highlighted the importance of being kind and considerate.

In phonics, we focused on the letters M and N. For Critical Thinking, we enjoyed the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. As we explored the story, we focused on the sizes small, medium and large.

Welcome to week 6 everyone! In this week, our K2 students were introduced to fairytales. We talked about how fairytales are stories from a long time ago that are not real. Some fairytales even teach us a moral lesson! For this week, we read the story “The Three Billy Goats Gruff” and the students learned to be brave to face the mean troll!

In our Cambridge lessons we continued to talk about different parts of a house and what we can do in different rooms. We did some activities on our books where the students had to take out some stickers by themselves and stick them in the correct boxes. Everyone did an excellent job listening to the teacher’s instructions carefully while practicing their motor skills!

In our Math lessons, the students were introduced to ordering numbers from 1 to 10. We played some games on the smartboard where we had to take turns to come out and pop the balloons and put the train carts in order! We all had so much fun that we wanted to do it again in small group time!

What an incredible week of learning! This week, we began a new topic in our Math lesson focused on Tally Marks. We discovered that tally marks are groups of lines used to count objects in sets of five. It was a wonderful reminder of our math lessons from last year, where we practiced counting in groups. We even went outside to our play area to find objects to count and represented the quantities using tally marks. It was a fun and engaging way to explore our new topic!

In Critical Thinking, we explored a very important animal: cows! Cows are fascinating creatures that provide many resources for humans to consume and utilize. We studied the various parts of their bodies and their functions. To further our learning, we completed a worksheet focused on the body parts of cows.

We showcased our dancing skills during Physical Play to have fun and relax our muscles. Everyone took turns sharing their favourite dance moves. We hope you had a fantastic week like we did in K3. Looking forward to seeing you next week for another English blog!

主題----「我的家」

     來到主題「我的家」的最後一週了,老師向幼兒分享一些家居安全的重要性,讓幼兒明白家裡有不同的物品是不可以隨便觸摸和讓幼兒知道每次玩完玩具需要收捨好,亦能避免家居意外的發生。

在製作圖工方面,老師教授了「我的家」中有不同的地方,幼兒能跟老師分享客廳、睡房、廚房和洗手間裡有甚麼設施,並拼貼出自己的家。每位小朋友設計的家都獨一無二呢!

另外,幼兒能嘗試跟隨老師唸讀兒歌《我家的房間》,幼兒能夠配合動作,向大家分享兒歌的內容,十分投入呢!

主題:「我的家」─爸爸媽媽的愛

今週,我們展開新主題「我的家」。老師邀請幼兒向同學們介紹自己的爸爸媽媽,幼兒介紹時都表現得特別興奮。最後,幼兒表達對爸爸媽媽的愛,告訴大家:「我愛爸爸媽媽。」。

另外,透過角色扮演,幼兒模擬爸爸上班及媽媽照顧寶寶的情景,幼兒藉此加深認識爸爸媽媽的角色,體驗到爸爸媽媽對自己無微不至的愛。

幼兒更進行了各項學習活動,例如聽故事、唸兒歌、畫畫像和拼貼遊戲等,學習認讀「爸爸」、「媽媽」等字詞,初步認識新主題的詞彙。

 

學習目標: 1) 理解故事所表達的內容 2) 嘗試介紹自己的父母

3) 初步認識關愛家人的方法

主題----「玩具真好玩」

     今週繼續主題「玩具真好玩」,幼兒在老師的引導下,知道能夠透過觀察玩具的顏色特徵加以描述,積極地與同學一同進行猜謎遊戲,並以句式描述出來讓其他同學知道自己最喜愛的玩具是甚麼。

此外,幼兒踴躍向老師分享自己家中有甚麼類型的玩具,亦透過影片和角色扮演學習進行遊戲時應注意的事項。他們亦積極嘗試以討論方式選出較安全和適齡的玩具。通過專注聆聽繪本故事《玩具去哪了》,讓幼兒知道玩完玩具要收拾,也應記得擺放玩具的位置,不要遺留玩具,培養收拾玩具的好習慣,家長可鼓勵幼兒在家中自己收拾玩具,建立不任性買玩具的健康習慣,養成不浪費的優良品質。

 

學習目的:

1) 認識玩具及名稱配對

2) 能利用不同物料製作玩具

3) 認識水部首及其字詞





K3

今週展開新的主題「動物」,幼兒專心地觀看短片及圖片,認識一般常見的家居寵物,如貓、狗、兔子、倉鼠、烏龜等,透過觀察,積極向老師分享它們的外形特徵和生活習性,更深入探索家居寵物的共通點。幼兒亦踴躍向老師分享自己照顧小動物或接觸它們的經驗及不同寵物的本領,十分投入。

此外,幼兒亦透過分組討論,了解飼養寵物的條件及飼養時應注意的事項,讓幼兒從中明白飼養寵物必需要具備愛心和責任心,也知道可透過領養幫助被遺棄的動物


學習目的:

1. 認識一般常見寵物的名稱、外形特徵、習性

2. 了解飼養寵物的條件及注意事項

3. 懂得愛護尊重小動物
