Highlights of the Week

PN

This week, PN students got to be more familiarized with their things in their home surroundings as they learned new vocabulary, such as building, street and window. In this week’s theme, students learned about other community helpers such as doctor and nurse. We also went over the letter ‘E’ and its sound and vocabulary associated with it such as ‘egg’, ‘elephant’ and ‘elbow’. For Math, we focused on the number 10 and learned to count to ten with different objects. Everyone had lots of fun counting with the rubber duckies!






K1

It’s been a fantastic week at school as we reviewed and did some revision on our concepts. For Math, we compared objects in groups by looking at which group has more or less. We also did some counting up to number 18 and revised all of our numbers. The children are pretty fast learners as they can do it quickly and spontaneously. We also reviewed how to write from numbers 1 to 5 independently and they were all superb! For Cambridge, we reviewed our transportation vocabulary such as bus, train, scooter, bike etc. and also reviewed where we can spot these transports. Our K1 children were super proud that they remembered all of them! J For Critical Thinking, we reviewed our colours such as pink, yellow, orange, green and red! We look forward to continuing the fun next week.

What another week of fun learning in K2! This week in Math, we expanded our counting skills by learning to count in 5s. We applied our new counting skills in Physical Play by grouping ourselves in groups of 5 and count out loud. We also learned to count in 5s by using bean bags. In Critical Thinking we learned about another sea creature, the octopus! Did you know that octopuses have no bones? We learned about how octopuses protect themselves in the ocean from other sea animals. We also did a worksheet on what kind of sea animals we’d like to be and why we chose those animals. We presented our work in front of the class and did some sharing. What an amazing week!




K3

This week has been challenging but fun! We challenged ourselves to subtract double digits and we kept on practicing until we got the hang of it. Practice makes perfect! We are already at the end fractions and it was such an exciting experience. What a way to end it by learning quarters of a fraction. We dove back to the ocean and help the animals who are facing different threats that are damaging their homes. Oh no! We learned that we should clean up our trash and take good care of the ocean because it is important to us. We also crafted this polluted fish to help us be mindful of our oceans and how much the animals are in danger. This week’s Critical Thinking has given us a great understanding of our oceans and how we should take good care of it. You can talk more about it with them to see how much they have understood. 主題: 幫助我們的人廚師

今週,老師展開新主題「幫助我們的人」,副題為「廚師」。幼兒對於此主題十分感興趣,積極投入課堂活動當中,透過不同的活動,讓幼兒認識廚師的工作。

另外,透過實物和圖片,幼兒學習到廚師在工作中使用的工具及各工具的用途。透過角色扮演活動,幼兒體驗廚師烹煮的程序。


學習目的:

(1) 認識廚師的工作

(2) 體會製作食物的樂趣

(3)認識的字形和字義






K1

主題:「衣服」─ 衣服的功用

這個星期開展新主題--「衣服」。透過衣服的實物及圖片,讓幼兒認識衣服的名稱、功用、不同色系的衣服,並透過親身操作,幼兒探索衣服的不同布料,並能說出不同布料的質感。

除此之外,幼兒透過觀察衣物上的花紋、圖案,認識不同的花紋、圖案名稱。全班同學更一起設計獨一無二的衣服,設計過程中加強他們的社交技巧,學會合作、聆聽和尊重同伴的意見。


學習目標:

1.認識衣服的功用

2.認識衣服有不同的顏色

3.認識不同的衣物布料

主題:「幫助我們的人」─認識消防員的裝備及工作

本週與幼兒開展新主題「幫助我們的人」,老師首先利用幼兒最感興趣的職業─「消防員」作引子,透過簡報及歌曲律動遊戲,讓幼兒認識消防員的裝備和工作。

此外,老師帶領了幼兒遊覽整個校舍,觀察及記錄校內的防火設備及其位置,過程中幼兒認識到不同防火設備的名稱及功用。透過觀察火警路線圖,幼兒認識火警發生時的逃生路線,以增強防火及自我保護的意識。建議家長可與孩子分享家居防火知識及居所的防火設備,也可讓孩子認識家中如遇火警發生時的逃生路線,讓他們知道注意防火的重要性。

學習目的:

(1) 認識消防員的的裝備及工作

(2) 知道學校的防火設備

(3) 培養防火及自我保護的意識




K3

主題:「購物樂」-香港流通貨幣的面值和特徵

今週展開新主題「購物樂」。老師與小朋友討論,平時與家人購買物品時,會在哪處購買及如何付款。老師亦向小朋友展示香港流通貨幣的面值及特徵,包括紙幣和硬幣,此外幼兒亦知道有不同的付款方式。他們反應熱烈,說出媽媽會把錢幣給他們買一些物品,如:飲品等,或給八達通買食物及乘車等,而且他們紛紛表示,媽媽只是携帶電話出街,就能付款買東西,非常方便及快捷呢!

最後,幼兒更透過實物錢幣進行購物遊戲,例如老師出示鉛筆及價錢牌,他們透過手上的錢幣,找出相應的數量,看看誰最快找出相應的錢幣,他們感覺很有趣及好玩。

(1)認識香港的流通貨幣的面值和特徵

(2) 認識不同的付款方法

(3)懂得珍惜和感恩
